At St. Werburgh's, we take the shared ministry of
laity and clergy extremely seriously. Lay people are
practically involved in virtually every aspect of the
ministry of the church. Groups of lay people exercise
responsibility for developing, overseeing and
sustaining the specific areas of ministry of Education,
Pastoral Care, Worship, Outreach and Social Events.
These groups report to the PCC, which retains the
responsibility for shaping over-all policy. On the
administrative side, small committees deal with the
practicalities of buildings and finance.

PURPOSE STATEMENT.
At St. Werburghs church we strive to share Gods good news by
our love, witness, worship and service.
(We strive to know God, show God and share God.)
We aim to:
- share his love by being caring, compassionate and welcoming
to all.
- worship God through prayer, ceremony, music and the
traditional symbols of the Christian faith.
- witness to our faith by showing and sharing Gods love in our
everyday lives.
- serve God by nurturing our gifts and talents and by using them
for the benefit of others, especially those in need.
