Childrens
church is on Tuesdays at 2.00pm for pre school age children and their
carers. The group provides an early opportunity to introduce very young
children to the life of the church and proves to be very popular.
Childrens church takes the form of an informal service of action songs,
stories and a simple craft activity. New members are always very
welcome.
JUNIOR CHURCH
Junior church (age aprox 3 - 11)
meets on Sundays concurrently with the Parish Eucharist.
Other children sing in the choir or serve at the Altar. St. Werburgh's
has adopted the practice of admitting children to Holy Communion before
Confirmation in accordance with the guidelines issued by the House of
Bishops.
CELLAR
CLUB
The
Cellar Club, for children 7 - 11years, meets in the early evening
weekly on Thursdays in the Parish Room. This is an open group with the
emphasis on providing organised recreational facilities with limited
membership, so there is always a waiting list for this very popular
club.
CHILDRENS ACTIVITY WEEK
There is a one week Children's
Summer School with a biblical theme for 80 children in the summer
holidays and this is always over-subscribed.
